Imperial Tobacco UK has made an announcement of the appointment of Eugene Walsh in line of duty of UK general manager. The company said that Walsh will work in place of Amal Pramanik who has been employed as divisional director with Imperial Tobacco Group.
Imperial Tobacco said Eugene Walsh became a member of the company in March 2003 located out of Moscow and since then has performed several senior roles such as sales and marketing director Russia and sales and marketing director Ukraine, before being employed as general director, Ukraine and Moldova, in 2010.
Imperial, the maker of Davidoff and Gauloises cigarettes, said as general director, Walsh provided control of the operations of the biggest British owned company and one of the largest taxpayers in Ukraine employing over 500 people. It said just before becoming a member of Imperial Tobacco, Walsh detained several senior executive positions in sales and marketing with numerous international FMCG companies, including 14 years at Diageo.
Commenting on his appointment, Walsh said: “I am pleased to be getting accepted into Imperial Tobacco’s flagship market and very much wait to meeting and working with our UK business partners.”
