67-year-old Marianne Faithfull, famous English songwriter, singer and actress, after almost 50 years of smoking decided to quit the habit for good.
Former lover of Mick Jagger, Marianne in her youth was addicted to drugs and was even homeless. After years of smoking Vogue cigarettes she managed to quit only this year.
Her most apprecited album is Broken English released in 1979 which contains many songs that later became famous and namely this album has the song Sister Morphine writted by Mick Jagger.
In an interview Faithfull was asked about smoking and drinking, and she answered:
“I’m anti-smoking now… I’m a simple girl, really. It was just heroin (I was addicted to). If you go into the seven deadly sins, things like drugs, alcohol, sex, smoking, that’s all over. Sex, who knows? But as far as I can tell, I think it’s probably over, yes.”
